Description

Love Your Tribe believes that by fostering learning through intentional conversations and shared experiences we can heal and grow.

The Black Talk Series is a series of spaces created to engage the Black community in often taboo topics, in intergenerational facilitated dialogues. We encourage Black people of all ages to attend our events so young and mature voices can be added to the conversation, as well as the Facilitators.

Purpose:

The Group Facilitator provides a leadership role within a peer support group ensures a supportive and constructive atmosphere is maintained by the group participants.

A group facilitator is responsible for helping participants reach decisions and accomplish goals. Your duties include working with groups to clarify meeting content, objectives and to establish ground rules that govern behavior. Facilitator duties also involve selecting appropriate methods and tools that will enable participants to achieve results. When problems or issues come up, facilitators work with the group to resolve conflict and return to goals. Other duties as a group facilitator include creating environments that allow civil dialogue and input from all participants and above all — remaining neutral throughout the process.

To manage a weekly group working with client members. The post holder will develop members’ self-exploration and self-empowerment themes within a setting that provides social contact and support, enabling client members to improve their mental health and reach personal goals. This will be done by creating a safe, non-stigmatising and welcoming environment for client members, a safe place where people feel able to express themselves. The group will also provide speakers of interest/stimulating activities to ensure that members have the opportunity to experience new things and information to help them in their daily lives.
